The Mark 978LF series of sanitary control valves are designed for low flow processes within the pharmaceutical, biotech, cosmetic, and food and drink industries.

Typical applications

Typical applications would include liquid ingredient addition, clean air or gas, USP purified water and CIP service.

MK978LF is self-draining when mounted in the vertical or horizontal orientations and has no guiding in the wetted area, preventing particulate generation.

Body and finish

No threads are in contact with the service media, preventing accumulation or contaminants.

All wetted parts on the Mark 978 sanitary control valve are machined from 316L stainless steel bar stock with a standard 20 Ra mechanical finish on internal wetted surfaces (0,5 μm); machine finish on body exterior (63 RMS), and electropolished inside and out.

Optionally it is also available with a 20 Ra mechanical finish on external body surfaces (0,5 μm); 8 Ra finish on internal or external surfaces (0,2 μm).

The valve steam has a standard 20 Ra mechanical finish and electropolish (0,5 μm) with optional 8 Ra mechanical finish (0,2 μm).

Available options and sizes

Mark 978LF is available from DN15 and DN20 (1/2” and ¾”) with ASME Tri-Clamp, tube weld ends amongst other process connections. Various Cv values are available, either linear or equal percentage.
